There is no question that Ms. Boyle's voice is a sonic delight, and it comes through in virtually every song on this recording. The disappointment is in the obvious lack of stylistic coaching she had with styles unfamiliar to her. I have no doubt that with a better support team this could have been a much more rewarding CD. The smarmy choral white noise is really annoying in a few selections, and her potential is completely unrealized in "How Great Thou Art." I look forward to hearing much more of Susan Boyle, but in recordings that meld her vocal talents with a varied repertoire that exhibits more than just her voice, impressive as it is. As a début album this could and should have been more satisfying when one considers the enormous potential the producers had to work with. Get more detail about I Dreamed A Dream.
