From the moment I saw Simon Cowell's eyebrows lift in surprise the first time he heard Susan Boyle sing, I looked forward to this CD. Then when it finally came out and I looked at the song selections, I was disappointed. Wild Horses? Daydream Believer? And while they are still not my favorite songs, the arrangements are well suited to her voice, slow and full of emotion. For a woman with no formal training, and a CD that was, relatively speaking, quickly put together, this is very well done. Her voice is pure and clear, simple but full. Her version of You'll See is exceptionally good. I'm sure you could nit pick on recording issues and other minor details until the cows came home, but for the average listener who just likes a pretty song sung well, this is it, in spades.
